All Clay County Chamber of Commerce members are welcome to join us for the monthly member meeting, which will take place Tuesday, May 27, at noon, at the YMCA.

Lunch is $7 payable at the door.

Our guest speaker this month is Jesse Walker of WTWO.

Looking into the future, the featured speaker in June is Bud Beverly of IVC Industrial Coating, Inc.

All monthly member meetings take place on the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of July and December.

July will probe to be a great time at our quarterly "After-Hours" Communichange, which will take place Thursday, July 17, from 5-8 p.m. The event will take place at the Elks Club in Brazil.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the chamber office or by calling 448-8457 or Toni Carter's Edward Jones office by calling 442-5013.

We have several surprises planned. You do not have to be a member to attend this event.

What's in a word?

It amazes me how one small word can change a life forever. Cancer, birth, death, marriage, divorce, pregnant and on and on. How we all handle that one word is also amazing to me. Some with shock, fear, happiness, etc. The best word I know to offset any other word is support. If you have the support of a good friend or wonderful family, then all of the words in the world can be made less scary or more joyful...

Patriotic spirit alive in Clay County

There seems to be a united spirit among the citizens of Clay County in the form of patriotic banners. Each day, there are more banners flying high. You too can participate in the patriotic spirit by purchasing a sign for your yard. The yard signs have the same design as the banners, however, they say "Proud Supporter of Our Troops."...
