Just another day in paradise
Posted Wednesday, June 11, at 5:27 PM
Ever had one of those days where you just try to make it through the day with your chin up!

I think I am having one of those weeks!

I am snowed under piles of homework, that I really need to be doing but balancing life, work, family and 30 minutes to myself isn't working in my favor.

Plus I have added stress of trying to move this weekend!

I wish I had one of those easy buttons that Staples shows on their commercials, that I could hit and make my problems disappear.

I could think of one big headache that I would make disappear first and then my life would be less stressful.

Then to add fuel to the fire, I can't get Internet for two weeks!

Two weeks!

No, I am not addicted to the Internet; I have homework to turn in 3-4 times a week.

So either I spend more time at work and do my homework somewhere in the corner of the office or try to find alternative places to get wireless.

I really like doing my homework at 11 p.m.-2 a.m., in the comforts of my pajamas, sitting at my table or lounging on my chair.

Why does everything have to take forever to get hooked up?

I am sure they would not want to wait so long to get basic things hooked up to make their lives run a little smoother.

Yes, I am venting, but it is good for me to vent once in a while!

Anyway, I set up mock stock market trades last weekend for my financial class!

We had $10,000 of fake money to spend on stocks and then watch what they do over the next eight weeks.

My biggest purchase was 2,000 shares of Ford Motor Company.

I bought them for $2.67 a share and today they went up 20 cents a share.

I also purchased some from Harley, Coach, Ebay, General Motors, Caterpillar and Cummins.

All for different reasons but it was still fun and I am really glad it is all fake money unless those Ford stocks really take off, then I will have wished it was real money.

I will get to check it again tomorrow and see if anything changes.

I should have purchased some stocks in Exxon or an oil company since they are getting my money anyway!

Now I am off to ready another chapter in my cross-cultural psychology book and get my discussion question posted on the internet before I go to bed tonight.

Have a great rest of the week!

Evolution of a Hillary supporter
Posted Thursday, June 5, at 12:51 PM

I will admit it…I voted for Hillary in the Indiana primary. No, I am not a feminist but anytime a woman competes for a job in what America deems as a "Man's World" truly gets my attention. Yes, in 1984 Geraldine Ferro was the Democratic Nominee for the Vice President with Democratic Presidential candidate Walter Mondale...

Round 2 of my classes have ended!
Posted Monday, June 2, at 4:05 PM

Round two of my Master's classes have ended. Woo hoo! Can I say that I am thrilled? No, I didn't jump up and down, scream, whoop or holler. I mentally went WHEW! And took the night off to relax. My team finished a marketing plan on the new hybrid Tahoe complete with statistics with charts and graphs that reflected trends in the market place...

Anyone else ready for football?
Posted Wednesday, May 28, at 12:39 PM

I have to admit it! I am ready for football season to start! To me football is like a religion! On game days, I do laundry just so I have an excuse to sit in front of the TV without feeling lazy! Sundays seem so lonely without brats, a cold beer (or two if the game is exciting) and ignoring the cell phone during the game!...

Gas prices hitting the wallet.....
Posted Wednesday, May 21, at 2:58 PM

With gas prices at almost $4 a gallon, I cringe filling up my car with gas! I see my paycheck going and going and going and saying "bye bye" with a smart-aleck tone. Let's face it, gas prices will continue to go up! Then I remember that I need to buy food and pay rent with the same check. OUCH!!!...

Drama Queens......
Posted Monday, May 19, at 12:27 PM

Life is always full of surprises and everyday there is always something new. Which is a good thing for it means you are alive and kicking. But to deal with a woman who is a drama queen….can you say…WOW!!!! I would rather not deal with them but unfortunately I had to this weekend. ...

Where is the warm weather????
Posted Wednesday, May 7, at 1:59 PM

It is my fifth day on the job and so far so good....... Today is gloomy with the rain that seems to come in spurts and it makes it very hard for me to stay awake. I can't wait for warm weather to get here....I miss the Phoenix heat of 115 degrees with no humidity! I will take 75 degrees with humidity that makes it feel like 80 degrees right now!!!!...

The newbie....
Posted Tuesday, May 6, at 3:41 PM

Yes, I am the newbie...even though I dislike the word but that's what I am! I am sure you are curious to what an Arizona native is doing in Brazil, IN. Yes a job brought me to Indiana, cheaper property taxes brought me to Clay County. However, I do have great neighbors and they make it a great place to live...
