  • I loved this blog! We have had so many people ask my husband and I why in the world we hold onto our 10 yr.old Mazda. I love that car and in all the years we have had it, we have maybe put 1000.00 into it. Everything still works and it even has developed a neat little rattle that lets me know when he is home. (lol) Sure, we could afford a second car and maybe even a new car for the first, but those lack of car payments are just so much fun that the money we get to save driving our old one is made sweeter.

I love the parabolic twist you present that many of us don't take time to evaluate if something is what is we NEED or simply DESIRE. Need, oft times, is much less expensive a lifestyle then DESIRE.

  • No matter what vehicle I buy, when I part with it I get whatever they pay for salvage.......because I don't part with them till they are used up!

There is no need to replace something that you don't have to, unless it saves you money to do so.

I wonder about people who buy things to impress other people simply because they think they can afford to. I think that they need to see a professional to help them with their inferiority complex! You cannot impress the people who know you…if they know you, they already know that you have faults. Why waste your money to try to impress people who might see you on the street, in the mall, or anywhere else….LOL…they don't care about you.
