Take that, You!

Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything seems to "gang up" on you?
I've been having one for a month … LOL! There I was, taking life one day at a time when, all of the sudden, a whole week jumped me at once. When I almost regained my balance, the next week reinforced what was still standing of the first seven days. For a time, I was getting ahead so slow that I thought I might have to back up just to go forward. But every day is a holiday and every meal is a feast. Even pain is a good thing because although it tells you something is wrong, it also tells you that you are alive. If we didn't have problems, life would be boring. Family matters came to the forefront recently. While I am contending with three different family situations at once and they are still in flux, at least they have stabilized enough to see where they are going. There are many times in your life when you have to listen to other people's problems then just wait and worry because there is truly nothing that you can do. There are times in life when you and only you can solve the problem, everyone else can offer you their advice but you must take action. My role has been as advice-giver and sounding board for a couple of weeks. Life is still good, even though I'm badly bent … LOL! I think it is time for someone to take Leo's place. He no longer has a reason to be prominently displayed in the paper. His rants about wanting and needing the remonstrance failed miserably. I for one want someone to provide some meaningful and interesting material.
cubbie:
Did we read same blog? What I read seemed to indicate that personal issues has kept him FROM blogging for a little while but now he is getting "his head above water" so to speak so can return to it. All of us get tied up in other matters of life besides writing our thoughts on this site. I do believe that is the "message" here. Things may not go as planned but at least they do continue and each presents a new, if not always welcomed, adventure.
I also believe that the remonstrance issue has not yet been decided but even if it does not succeed, it helps to educate some of the taxpayers that not all were in agreement with the proposal on how to spend the money on education. Why don't you start a blog that expresses your thoughts on an issue and maybe it will be important to others as well and spark a conversation that will in turn be beneficial to those in the community. Finance, health care, education, etc etc. There are many topics from which to choose. About which are you passionate? Have a good day.
Cubbiefan,
What facts are you basing your opinion on? Looking back at the responses to my blog and disregarding my comments shows that there were a lot of people commenting. That means people were reading. What do you think is important in a blog, what or how much is written or how much is read?
My choice of material is my own, as a blog is an opinion piece to begin with. I am not a reporter sent out on assignment.
Now, I did label one article on the building project as a "rant". Even then, I tried to tell the reader something that they didn't know. Tell me how I "failed miserably"? If one person became better informed, I succeeded!
Of course, no one is forced to read this blog, just as most of the world doesn't read the Brazil Times. While I respect your right to your privacy, I also recognize the fact that when people comment in a surreptitious manner, as in under an alias, without providing facts, they are expressing their opinion without foundation. I generally take such comments with a healthy dose of skepticism as they are "rants" of an uninformed and unreasonable person who is afraid to have people know what they are saying.
Hate to say it Leo, but welcome to the "happy, yet hectic" life of a person who writes for the masses.
I hope your "troubled water" has receded and you can "bob along" with the rest of us for a while.
Where are you Leo? I need a good thought provoking blog! Hope all is well.
I always read Leo's blog, it is always good to consider the other side and sometimes I even agree with him, lol.
Sorry, guys, just haven't ad time to think yet.Have a step-daughter who filed for divorce living with us, wife went to court and we have grandson living with us (who NEEDS supervision before he gets into any more trouble), found out ex-wife hasn't been paying son's medical bills when they showed up as "delinquent" on my credit report, trying to borrow money to pay ex-wife as specified in divorce decree when $20,000 in equity evaporated between what the mortgage company said the home was worth in 2003 as opposed to what the apprasor and the assessor say it is worth now, trying to find the money to buy materials to replace a leaky roof, fixing relatives cars, and, on top of all of that, had to pump out my sister's basement and then fix the plumbing leak........lol.
I'll try to get back to the blog....just as soon as I can catch a breath.
i second that
My goodness. Sounds like you need to sit down and get your breath. I do miss arguing with you but you need to "fix" a few things first. Take care!
