Stress

I have a problem with stress.
It isn't an anxiety disorder or anything like that, I just allow certain things to get to me when they shouldn't. I was at my worst when I attended Indiana State University. My freshmen year I lost more than 30 pounds because I would forget to eat, or I would be so stressed that eating would make me sick to my stomach. Eventually, with some help (from my family and very nice therapist who explained the safe ways of dealing with stress) I was able to gain control over my problems, but I still stress. Now I have a very nice collection of stress balls, and believe me when I tell you, they can break. I also have found that Mountain Dew is amazing and mints are awesome. But nothing beats a bag of Doritos at 4 a.m. Next week is finals week and though I have been through my ritual of studying and cramming for exams more times then I can count, I'm already starting to feel the effects of the stress. So tonight on my way home from work, I'm going to stop at the store and buy a case of Mountain Dew, some mints, a pizza for dinner and Doritos to help me prepare for next week. And while I'm at it, I may pick up some chocolate, after all fellow reporter Ivy Jackson says, "It's tough times for everyone right now and we could all use a little help with our frustration. Some moments in life need the stabilizing affects of rich, velvety chocolate." I think she is right. Bring on Hershey! |
