I might break into a song and dance!

The other day at work, I was talking with a few of my coworkers. I told them how I wish my life were a musical.

I am a huge fan of musicals. I think it is because they always have a happy ending, like Disney movies! I love the singing and dancing. My absolute all time favorite is "Singin' in the Rain! "

I still remember the first time I saw the movie. I was perhaps only 7 or so and I was at my grandfather's house one afternoon. It was probably a Friday because I don't remember my grandma being there and she usually played Bingo on Friday.

Grandpa and I had just had a sandwich and a diet coke. We were channel surfing and ended up on A&E classics. The music started and my grandpa smiled. We sat and watched Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds dance and sing.

Another musical that has found a place in my heart is Hairspray. One of the joys of living with Samantha was we shared movies. My senior year of college I spent more time with her and our friends watching musicals than ever before. When I graduated she bought me an Indiana State Alum T-shirt and a copy of "Hairspray." To this day when I put in the movie, I think of my sister and all of our friends sitting in our dorm room playing cards and watching the movie.

Yes, musicals have found a place in my heart. So watch out, I might break into a song and dance!
