Happy Easter

Posted Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 4:12 PM

Easter has always been a special time for my family. It is one of my grandparent's favorite holidays and since the death of my grandfather, my grandmother tries to spend every holiday cooking. Plus, my family only needs an excuse to get together and eat!

I won't deny my life has been a little frantic lately and I've neglected some of the more important people in my life. My grandmother is at the top of the list. So this Easter, after I visit with my grandfather at the cemetery, I will sit in my grandmother's kitchen and "help," as best I can, with cooking Easter dinner.

While sitting around my grandmother's large oak dining table, I'll chat with my family. I'll catch up on the latest gossip, listen to everyone tell jokes and laugh. I'll spend time with those that matter most and listen to stories.

While I'm spending the day with my grandmother and sister, I'll be thinking about my family in West Virginia and my grandpa. Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring me something more than chocolate this year. I'm hoping for some deviled eggs!

Happy Easter everyone!
