Useful Internet linkPosted Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 1:34 PM
map provided by Indiana Department of Homeland Security (dated Feb. 10, 2010 as of 12:29:06 PM)
The website offers useful information for emergency response personnel and the public to use in the upcoming year to be prepared for all types of emergencies. However, an application that will prove useful during this blast of wintry weather is the Travel Advisory Map. The map automatically refreshes the travel status for all counties throughout Indiana during travel emergencies, including Warning (red), Watch (orange), Advisory (yellow) and Caution (white).
We need to be prepared and informed so we can help ourselves. As spring nears, check this blog regularly for more planning and preparation tips, links to information on the Internet or where it can be found. Also, a severe storm class is scheduled again this year at the library that will be open to the public. More information about the date and time of the class will be released in the coming month. Some weather radios will be given away that night. Until then, remember that planning and preparation will make a difference no matter what might happen.
