I'm Fed Up with Senator Lugar!!!!!Posted Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 6:44 AM
How nice it was of me to go on live Internet radio tonight and speak proudly about our town and State only to have someone call in and state to me that our Republican Senator Richard G. Lugar was on www.tmz.com boasting proudly of his latest pay raise. He says it all goes to charity, but watch the video and see his smirking, sardonic and disrespectful face as he spews his flagrant lies to www.tmz.com and to any person residing in the State of Indiana that voted for him.
I wonder if "Lugar the Lowlife" was thinking about his constituents in Brazil, Greencastle, Harmony, Carbon, Terre Haute and the surrounding areas when he spewed such ignorance and arrogance? I wonder if he is thinking so hard about those that are forced to decide between having heat and having dinner as he so forcefully boasts about his "raise" (pork barrel meat buffet!!!) kick back! (What a jerk and not to mention a shameful person and the antithesis of a Republican) We are in a recession that is staring into the cold eyes of a depression and any true Republican would have been totally against ANY kind of personal salary raise in order to SAVE MONEY FOR OUR COUNTRY!!!! Lugar is a WORM, PHONY, FAKE, and a total LOSER!!! 2010 better be his "cold day in hell" for he will NEVER BE BACK with MY VOTE!!! The time has come for all Republican, Democrat, Independent and Green party voters to say ENOUGH. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH FROM YOU CON ARTISTS!!! This great country of ours is not a Democracy. It is a Republic. Look it up!!! These losers work FOR us they do not OWN us! As the once great cartoon character Popeye would say, "I've had all I can stand, I's can't stands no more!!!!" and then he would pop open his can of spinach and begin cleaning up the mess. I hand each and every one of you today a can of spinach … START CLEANING UP THE MESS!!! Stop sitting around hoping and wishing for someone magical to come and clean up the mess. YOU ARE THE MAGIC! The vote STOPS HERE!!! Public Officials beware! We now know how close in character you are to this kind of politics and we are "mad as hell and not going to take it any longer". These ostriches have their heads out of the sand now and our teeth are bared. Politicians from small towns to the capitol cities better be ready to get their knuckles to the grindstone again because the little man is taking over and you are going to the unemployment line! Your kind put us there in the first place! Get off your duffs and write "Lugar the lowlife" and tell him what a waste of a vote, morality and sense he has come to be for us all! Here is his email: senator_lugar@lugar.senate.gov and for good measure, here is his website address so you can see for yourself this worm's hypocrisy. It's a bitter pill we have all needed to bite down on for a long time now. THE TIME IS NOW TO ACT!!!! THIS IS ENOUGH!! Hope and Change from Barack?!!! HAH! No!! Hope and Change is US and the USA! P.S. YOU ARE THE USA! Website: http://lugar.senate.gov/index.cfm Have a problem with my anger? Then you are part of the problem and will NEVER be the solution!!! Be afraid..we are done being your subservient Have Nots!! Stay Tuned… (This has been sent to Lugar the Lowlife along with a not so congenial email) I hope he enjoyed his sarcastic last stand with www.tmz.com and his constituents who go unemployed, hungry, cold and angry. Karen:
I will look at the sites you mention but Sen. Lugar has done a lot of good for this state and country and worked on many bipartisan committees. I'm having a hard time discounting all his history from that one statement.
Calm down....don't you know that ALL politicians are crooks? Democrats and Republicans alike! It is not just one person it is ALL people in congress. They have sold our country out to put money in their pockets and take money out of ours! We have the right to speak out all we want but it falls on deaf ears! Before long this country will have another civil war and it will be the people against congress!
Okay. First TMZ is a gossip/celebrity web site. Many times they take partial clips out of context. Not much better than National Inquirer IMHO.
I would have to ask WHEN this clip was filmed and When the raise was voted upon AND how did Lugar vote? If this was something that was done last term before the economic melt down and/or what was the vote count?
I am not denying what was said but I think that this site is notorious for not telling the rest of the story...just for sole purpose of getting a rise out of people.
Sen. Lugar is much more than this one clip. Remember we are all a mixture of the good and bad things we do. I would be writing to senators about not restricting how the bale out funds are being used by banks instead of about their last raise until we get the rest of the facts around this clip.
Lugar is one of the best Senators. I have a hard time discrediting his many great accomplishments such as the 21st Century Scholarship program. Thanks to him I was able to complete college.
Luger did not vote for a pay raise. Congress gets a pay raise automatically every year, the only way to stop it is to introduce a bill in congress. I will say he did nothing to stop it.
Lugar the Lowlife. I really expected something more than childish name calling from an adult. I know times are tough, but some people are still getting pay raises. I was one of those lucky enough to get a raise. It is part of life.
Sen. Lugar has accomplished so many great things. I encourage you, Karen, to really look at his website to see all the good he has done for Indiana, the USA, and the world. I also find it interesting that you didn't mention any other members of Congress. Every Congressman/woman is receiving the same raise. I have to agree with Jenny Moore's comments. She stated it perfectly.
You might try to do a little research before making a descision such as you have. I'm a democrat, but do like all the things Senator Lugar has done for Indiana.

I will admit that this blog was written on a rant. I usually don't write things while passionately angry, but this was just so annoying to me. As I watch people suffer and I give what I can, I get so discouraged that no one in Congress seems to want to stand up for the people anymore. Now we are being given the whole "bipartisan" speech. I find that a bit frightening as well. Does that mean that no one will be allowed to have a dissenting opinion and win?
I guess my youthful years of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington viewing may have had more of an impact on my soul than I realized. I know that you feel Senator Lugar has done so much good, but I did read up on him last night and it was all just the same ol' rhetoric we are fed all the time. Has it become "One hand giveth while the other taketh away?"
Thanks for all your comments and I do appreciate you taking time out to leave them. Differences in opinion is what makes this country great. If you think about it, if I had written this in say, Iran, I would have lost my head over the issue as a whole.

Everyone can arrive at their own opinion and stick with it, the senate is looking to pass an economic stimulus package that contains 375 billion for sexualy transmitted disease education and 600 billion for federal employees to get new cars there's no stimulus, other than for the auto industry, its driving up our debt and welcoming inflation to finish us off
Wow...such a "Christian" way to express yourself. I would be interested in the sources you researched in order to develop your opinion. While I am a supporter of Lugar and am satisfied with his perfomance in office, I do beleive term limits for all elected possisions is a good idea. Maybe then politicians will consider working for what is best for their constituants instead of how to get reelected.
Karen: Welcome. Glad to have you on our side. Lugar is at best a moderate, and worse a Liberal. I have felt this way about Lugar for quite a while. He wants to shut down the coal industry in Indiana via his support of Kyoto. He believes that Carbon Dioxide is a polutant. He probably contributes money to Al Gore.
The first thing that should have told you that you are on the right track is you have two professed liberals profess their love for Lugar. Then the icing on the cake (main liberal tactic) is to chastize you for your behavior as a "christian". I didn't see one time in your post that you even mention "christian". For all I know, you maybe an agnostic.
So again, if the liberals are attacking you personally, welcome to my side. Now watch them attack me.
Conservative Dad.... WHAT????
It is okay to be a Christian and still get angry (i.e. look up righteous anger). I get angry when one takes from another merely because they can. I am aware that my right may be wrong to another. However, "I will not go quietly into that good night" because one or two people disagree with me.
I don't know about you all, but I ENJOY having friends with differing views for that is how we continue to learn in life. Core beliefs are what they are to us all, but let us not forget that there are spine issues and then there are rib issues. The spine issue is our officials are ELECTED and WORK for us. However, more and more increasing fact is proving that is no longer the direction our great country is moving in.
Many people have alot of very ugly things to say everyday on the comments about our local officials. I often wonder when the last time these same people have picked a phone, or sent an email requesting to speak with these officials and ask questions. I decided too and have been warmly greeted and treated with nothing but respect.
Hmmmm...you think Senator Lugar will meet with me? I would hedge a pretty big bet in the NO direction. After all who am I to him? Apparently, a NON ESSENTIAL. For if I were essential in any way, this man would be the one taking the ridicule on the hill as he stands proudly with conviction and says "Enough is enough!". He would also passionately cry out when he sees things that hurt our country happening. After all, that bailout has helped so much right? Why jobs are jumping into people's laps and no one is scared, hungry or going homeless because of that stimulus!
Pfffttt!! As much as I deplore the action of lieing when done to me by a peer, friend or family member why then would I enjoy it from an elected official?
Perhaps to some peace comes by lies, not to me. I would rather be angry righteously then happy for all the wrong reasons.
Thanks again for your comments and thanks for the education you are all so graciously providing me.
KM.
sassypants: What???? Did you need me to explain something to you? I don't understand your post.
Tell us how you really feel?!?! I understand, just trying to put a smile on your face and not get on your bad side...lol
Great blog
KM,
Oh just the whole "turn the other cheek", "judge not lest ye be judged" and "do unto others" quotes (all of which I am breaking...call me hypocrite) come to mind.
I do agree with your comments on having spirited discussions on opposing view points. Having the ability to do that is one of the many things that make the USA the best place in the world to live (despite all that is wrong here...we are definitely not an Eden).
I would say you are 99.9999999% correct is saying Lugar would not meet with you....I hesitate in saying absolutes. Inaccessibility of our elected officials is another reason for term limits.
Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, etc.....I can live with any of them because opposing view points are needed for checks and balances and they can always be voted out of office. I just think we need to stay clear of Socialist.
Still would be interested in your sources.
Madman:
Google. Follow the trail. Indianapolis Star online. Follow the archives. Hope that answers your questions. I am also sorry that someone told you that Christians are supposed to be wimps. You were given some bad information. On a very personal note...Christians are still HUMAN and still PEOPLE. So, we still feel anger. Comes with the territory you know? Lol. Thanks for your inquiry and have a great day!
KM.
I am also sorry that it has been implied that Liberals aren't Christians!
KM,
I totally understand...that is why I called myself a hypocrite. The Indy Star is owned by the left leaning (as are most media outlets) Gannett Press so I always read what they publish with a grain of salt. The same should be about what one hears from the likes of Rush Limbaugh (too far to the right).
Sassy, sorry if you thought I implied that....it was not my intention. I think that God probably rolls his eyes in disbelief when he checks in on us...especially when politics are involved.
"Lugar the Lowlife"
That is mature..I'm going to have a hard time taking anything you say from here on out serious after reading some of these immature and illiterate comments about an excellent senator that has done a lot for our state.
Oh Propria,
The Lord himself could be handing out fish and loaves to the dieing of starvation and you would complain that he didn't give you filet mignon. Lighten up it's not the end of the world (or is it?!!!! LIVE IN FEAR!!!)Lol.
KM.
Also, lets learn how to get sources. I would only trust scholarly sources. That does not include a user updated database such as wikipedia.
good web site for research. http://www.ontheissues.org/states/IN.htm
Have You all not noticed that We the People are the employer... and elected officials are our employees. as an employer let me tell you that you have some real good employees and then you have some real crooks, they lie, cheat and steal from you in many ways that in a period of a year it can add up to what you would have paid 2-3 more people.
I am for term limits as you get fresh ideas not warmed up leftovers.
LOL..........Karen!!!
Tracking the votes and the "sound bites" of any politician can lead one to conclude that they are all no good. I say that from my heart and yet, as I have ran for office, it would apply equally to me.
I agree with Lugar on some things, but not all things.
Leo L. Southworth
I wish that I had read this blog before I commented on the blog about deleting comments. Even tho I am inclined to agree with most of your rantings about Lugar, I think some of what you wrote would have been cause to have an entire comment section deleted. If you had called the mayor of Brazil something along the lines of Bradshaw the B(fill in the blank with any B word you choose) in comparison to Lugar the Lowlife, the entire blog would have disappeared faster than you could type your own name. I guess it just depends on what public official you are criticizing (sp?) and who is being the critic.
UPDATE:
As you all are aware, the Republican House of Representatives have VOTED DOWN by 100% the simply bizarre and pork-laden stimulus bill! I hope to see our Senators do the same. If Lugar votes no on the stimulus, then he is better in my book. I still am wondering about this whole socialized medicine situation. Thoughts? Thanks!
KM.
I agree with you 100% on the stimulus plan....that will only stimulate the USA into a depression. I know Lugar is the hometown target, but have you looked into Daschel, Rengel, and Geitner (sorry about the spelling)?
Oh yeah Madman...each mentioned are tax cheats and therefore..badmen. Lol. Good call. So what are your thoughts on socialized medicine? Thanks!
KM.
KM,
I am so, so, so strongly against socialized healthcare. That is as nice as i can say it and still be allowed to stay on this site. One always hears about how well Canada's health care is....they just forget to mention the 50% income tax that finances their healthcare system or the months it takes for referral to specialist if they are needed. As one who works 50 hours plus a week (less my lunch time to read this site) in order to provide for my family without looking for handouts, i can not afford to give any more. I truly have problems for handouts and free rides...it might be an antiquated male ego thing, but I prefer to think it is just pride of taking care of oneself. I wish i were smart enough to make that call.
P.S....glad to see Dashel to withdraw from his cabinet nomination. Now we just need to get Rangel to step down or at least agree to visit the idea of rewriting the tax code.
