Finally, a Real Happily Ever After Story

Posted Monday, July 6, 2009, at 7:38 PM

I have a friend. This friend has experienced similar abuse in her prior relationship that was very similar as mine. Although we met after this time in our lives, we were bonded. As any woman would understand that similar experiences causes an almost psychic form of communication between you and this other person. A look, a sigh, even a slight change of behavior that no one would notice sets off that alarm that this other loved one is in pain.

Well, can the same be said in joy as well? I am happy to report, that yes, it does. My greatest joy and accomplishment was the God given blessing to move on and have a wonderful life. Now, I get to watch as my precious friend begins her life anew with her new love. How wondrous it is to share tears of joy and exhilaration versus pain! There is nothing more beautiful than a person in love they say and that can be said doubly about someone who crawls out of a pit and begins again. The steps are small and timid, but with prayer, healing and a true triumphant spirit, she offers her heart again and this time, to one who is most worthy.

To watch my friend with her fiancée makes me so happy that this writer runs short of words to describe the joy. Watching her begin life again with the joy, love and commitment she has always been so deserving of is such an emotional experience. I find myself looking to heaven and thanking the Lord for our joint healing and blessings.

I've never had a sister...until now. I get to watch my sister get married and be as happy for her and him on their day as I was on my own. Such a wonderful man and woman who honor, respect and adore each other so much deserve all the joy that life has to give and I am sure the Lord will be smiling as those hands join and the rings are slipped on. Of course, I will be the weeping lady that every great wedding has. Lol.

My dear friend, love is what you give and love is what you will receive. From my family to yours....CONGRATS AND WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Your tribute touched me, I felt the need to respond. It is touching to hear a "good" story for a change. It sounds like you and your friend are on the right track and are fortunate to have a friendship like yours and the relationship with God that is key to it all. I wish you all much happiness!!

Awesome. I was fortunate enough to find mine the first time. But I have a soft spot for those who don't find it the first time. I realize that in the age of the divorce rate being roughly 33-35% (50% is a myth), my bride and I of 28 years are an anomally. God Bless both (all 4) of you. A successful marriage always stands a better chance with 3 (Christ).
