Lemonade anyone?
Posted Saturday, August 15, at 7:12 AM I have come to the point in my life when I don't care what anyone thinks about me. I have learned that people judge others by their looks. Some of the nicest and sweetest people are the ones that most won't be friends with because they are covered in piercings or tattoos are like in my case, they have their hair dyed bright colors...
Who caused all the panic? With the recent swine flu scare or what they now call H1N1, it makes me wonder. I think the media caused a panic, when it wasn't necessary. I know it was wise to be cautious but first they were saying that many people were dying from it and then people were recovering from it...
Warm weather adventures The weather has been so nice lately it's hard to stay home. For those of you who don't know me, I am not a girly girl and I love being outside in nice weather. It's refreshing and stress relieving. My latest warm weather adventures included dragging my dad and kids to all over creation. (My dad doesn't mind and the kids love it)...
Tips I thought I would share some tips I have been taught by various people in my life. They are not only earth friendly but save you money on bills as well. I have simplified my life in ways not many understand. I agree it's more time consuming this way and that some would not go this far, but for me and my family, it's perfect for us...
Bigger picture We a a society have always been bombarded by commercials about kids in other countries who are starving and need our money. Now, don't get me wrong, but I would like everyone to stop and think about all the people in the United States that are starving and have basic needs that are not being met...
Environmentally friendly I have come to realize that with the recent economy, many people are going more environmentally friendly. I have always been somewhat environmentally friendly, but in the last year, I have made many improvements. I now use reusable bags only and I strive to buy or use more earth-friendly products...
Time for change There are many websites devoted to going green and being more earth and body healthy. I am all for being more environmentally friendly, but to me, it goes way beyond that. I am a believer in being more mind and body friendly as well. I admit that fast food is tempting, but I am doing so much better than I used to...
My thoughts about our great country I usually write about being positive and looking at the good. However, I am a little discouraged. I was looking at a newspaper article about a mom and dad who have three kids together and are not married, but will someday. As I scanned the comments, I was shocked that some people can be so narrow minded...
Perfect really isn't perfect I am one of those people that put lots of time and any spare money I have into making my house look nice. I do realize that no matter how hard I try, not everyone will like my style when it comes to decor and colors. I am a thrifty shopper so I get more for my money when it comes to decorations and furniture...
The way it used to be What happened to the days when people settled disputes by just going to other person and just speaking up and saying what's on your mind. Not that I condone violence bit what about when people settled disputes by duking it out until it was over then they shook hands and it was over...
Bring in 2009 I love when it's time for a new year. It brings a fresh start, as well as the hope that the new year will be better than the last. I have big hopes for the new year and things I want to accomplish for me and my family. The one thing I want to accomplish is to get a Fender Stratocaster guitar...
Special Thanks Everyday, my boys count days until Christmas, and to be honest, I do too. You see, Christmas, to us, is a magical time, especially since my boys are still young and they still get excited to think about what Santa is getting them. They try the best they can to be good and for young children, especially boys, I think they do a good job...
Holidays Holidays are a very special time for my family. We love all the get-togethers and all the excitement of Santa visiting. My three boys love going and picking out presents for everyone and they could care less if they get stuff back from others. I have always taught them the joy of giving and that some people cannot afford to give back and they are OK with that...
Opinions I have learned that there are people who are going to judge you no matter what you do or don't do wrong. What frustrates me the most is when people assume that you cannot do something and then act negatively about your choice. I recently took one of my boys out of public school because it just did not fit what he needed to get his education...
Memories As I sit here, now I am reminded of happy (some funny) memories in my life from past and present. Recently, my middle son, who is a tell-it-like-it-is child (he gets it from me, LOL) is into hunting because my husband is a hunter. Well, my son was in class and the teacher told him to color a picture of something he wants to do (a type of goal) and so he drew a picture of a deer after it had been hit with an arrow and when the teacher came over and looked, she said, "oh my," and my son replies, "you must be a bunny hugger.". ...
Life's little lessons I am writing this blog about things I have learned and things that have been taught to me by special people in my life. You can't judge a book by its cover ... everyone knows what this means. Treat others as you want to be treated because in the end, you get what you give...
Awakenings I recently found out that courtesy and respect don't mean much anymore. My grandma, who has always been one of my best friends, recently became ill. She lives in a nursing home and I went and stayed there a few days to be with her. The nursing home was great, they took care of us and they treated us well. They even bought coffee, which was much needed since I stayed up all night to keep an eye on her...
My thoughts about our great country The U.S.A is a great place to live and work and celebrate life. As Americans, we have the freedom to choose our religion, our significant other and we have the opportunity to recieve an education as well as many other things that sometimes we take for granted...
Things I have learned by having kids I am stay-at-home mom of three boys. I love what I do but I have definately learned a few things throughout this process. Here's a few things I have learned. Kids learn by doing, no matter how many times you tell them how the outcome will be, they learn by doing. When my oldest wanted to know what happened if you throw...
