Warm weather adventures

The weather has been so nice lately it's hard to stay home.

For those of you who don't know me, I am not a girly girl and I love being outside in nice weather. It's refreshing and stress relieving.

My latest warm weather adventures included dragging my dad and kids to all over creation. (My dad doesn't mind and the kids love it).

We hiked in the state parks and went to Bridgeton more than once and walked around. Then my kids and I played in the sand for a few hours until it started raining on us.

Yes, my dad warned us, but it was so warm and we were having so much fun we didn't listen.

McCormick's Creek State Park is an awesome place to walk around and see the beautiful scenes it has to offer. I love being outside so there is nothing better than packing a lunch and just leaving for the day and go hiking, swimming or just goofing around at all the wonderful places that we have in our area. Our first trip to McCormick's Creek (this year) was adventurous. My 3-year-old had never been there and although he loves the woods, my dad and I had joked that it was going to be getting dark soon so we better hurry down the trail so we could get back to the car before dark. So as we were talking, little ears were listening and without saying anything, my little cutie was doing his part in helping us get back.

As we were walking back, I noticed he had left orange tic-tacs on the trail so we could find our way back.

He does a lot of cute things but to me, that was one of the cutest.

We made it back to the car before dark barely but we all had such a great time.

We are going back tomorrow to finish what we started there and to see Wolf Cave.

The kids have wanted to do this since we left the last time. Amazing as it is, my 3-year-old can walk for 10 miles and not complain once.

My two older boys have always loved being outside, especially in the woods, so it's nice to see my youngest following suit and loving it as well.

My dad is awesome. He takes us to all the scenic spots and not once has he complained with the exception of the other day.

We started out in Bridgeton then we got soaked, but I told dad I wasn't ready to give up yet, so we went from there to Rockville and while there, we visited the Pamida store and then drove around there hoping the rain would stop so we could take more pictures of the scenery and go hiking.

But it didn't stop and dad got drenched, putting our Pamida treasures in our vehicle so my kids and I wouldn't get super wet.

But that's the only time he said anything. But he had the right to complain since he got drenched because we drug him across several counties in the pouring rain.

We have many more adventures to go on so hopefully the weather will cooperate better because we are all raring to go on our next adventure.

I hope you all got out to enjoy the nice weather because it seems like time flies when you're having fun.

So remember to take lots of pictures and enjoy life because you never know when it's going to be over. Life is funny that way.

One day your kids are small and the next thing you know, they are grown.

So since I can't slow time down, I have to take lots of pictures so I can always remember them while they are growing up.

Now is the time to get out and enjoy your family and your life.
