OK, I surrender.
I have tried and tried to write about the last presidential debate. The problem is that I am just too bored with it to pull it off.
This is not to say that I am bored about the election. The U.S. is at a crossroads. This election will determine which path we will take. I just hope that both paths don't lead to destruction.
To get the issue out of the way, let me quickly state my opinion on the second Presidential debate.
The President did much better this time. He makes a better "cool cat" than he does a political pugilist. But he had no real choice but to come out fighting after the last performance.
Candidate Romney held his own. His performance was basically consistent with the first debate.
In an effort to be objective in these debates and some of the other campaign events, I have avoided discussing the alleged lies, the lies, or the damn lies. Rather I have tried to focus on the performance. Having been quite active in both political parties, I would like to think I can see both points of view.
While I believe that the pressure was on for the "neutral" commentators to hand the second debate to the President, I believe that candidate Romney won by a very narrow margin. President Obama had to walk the razor's edge between being too week and overreacting. He slightly overreacted. Romney had less to prove this time and appears to be a better off the cuff speaker.
While it matters little in the great scheme of things, I have been much more occupied by the health of our yellow lab, Rocky.
Rocky has vomited, dry heaved, and wretched several to dozens of times per day for two to three months. He has been seen by two of our local vets several times. He apparently has no disease that can be tested for. (I know, a dangling participle, but re-write it correctly and say it out loud and see how it clangs in your ear like a metal trash can.)
We have determined that Rocky's stomach has been moved from its proper place. However, there is no known reason for this. There is no evidence of tumors or cancer and no direct evidence of a swollen organ.
We have tried to come up with a more agreeable food for him. Currently we are making either scrambled eggs or a meat, veg, and rice mixture that we puree for easier digestion. Some clearly makes its way through, but otherwise it is just worse to clean up than kibble or Gaines Burger.
We fear that he is slowly dying.
If anyone out there has any experience with this, information, or suggestions, we would be happy to receive them.
