YMCA Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program
We are the Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program. This is our picture and logo. This is a picture of the thank you card we received from a child in 2017 after we sent food home on the weekend for the child. No child should "werry" about their next meal. We are a community working together to do all we can to ensure kids don't "werry" on school breaks We deliver food to the children in Clay County for weekends, daily during summer breaks and we deliver 2 weeks of shelf-stable food for Christmas Delivery thanks to Duke Energy and our community to helps fill the need left for volunteers and financial donations. We are a community working together and doing the impossible.

Thank you all for your patience and help. You know we make this up as we go along, and you help us figure it out.
We are getting ready for Christmas Delivery 2018. Thank you all so much. If you can help and haven’t let us know already, there is still time. You can contact us as shown below. For those of you who have said you will help with delivery, we need you come to the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds between 5 pm and 7 pm on 12/19/18 and get your delivery instructions and information. If you can’t come that evening and are signed up for delivery on the 20th, please just let know, if you haven’t already. You can send us a FB message, email clayyouthfoodprogram@gmail.com , or call the Clay County YMCA and ask them to let Terry know you confirmed you are available to deliver on the 20th. You would then need to show up at the 4-H Fairgrounds between 9:00 am and 9:45 am on 12/20/18 to get your delivery information. If something unexpected happens and you are unable to make it Thursday morning, please contact us the same way.
As always, it is complicated.
We have a truck and trailer at the Clay County Chamber of Commerce at 4:00 pm on 12/19/18. We just need a few people to help us move and load the food we have stored there. We have volunteers with trailers who will pick up food at Save A Lot at 4 pm (no additional help needed) and take it to the Fairgrounds. Duke Energy will be picking up the 13,000 pounds of pasta for the kids at Aldi’s in Terre Haute and getting it to the Fairgrounds at the same time. That is our plan as of now.
At 5 pm on 12/19/18, we will meet at the 4H Fairgrounds, unload the food on the trailers and start packing food bags for each child. We have no idea if we will be ready exactly at 5:00, but that is our plan right now. Thank you for your patience as we figure this out together.
At 10 am on 12/20/18, we will meet at the Clay County 4H Fairgrounds, then head out to load and deliver food to the kids. Again, if you are delivering and can’t make it on the 19th to get your information, please show up between 9:00 am and 9:45 am to get your delivery information. If you are helping at a trailer (you know who you are), please come between 9:00 am and 9:45 am.
Thank you, Duke Energy, for your $15,000 donation! Thank you to our local businesses, churches, families, organizations, and individuals who are donating to help take care of the other $19,000 we need for Christmas Delivery 2018. We now have 344 families to deliver to as of 12/16/18.
