We will pack around 2,000 bags of food for Christmas Delivery 2019 at 6 pm on Friday, 12/20/19, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds, 6650 N SR 59, Brazil, Indiana. We will start at 6 p.m. When will we finish? It depends on how many volunteers can make it to help pack the bags. Simply show up to help if you can make it. Many hands and feet make the load lighter and usually a bit more fun!
Christmas Delivery 2019 will also be at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds on 12/21/19. We are up to 70 delivery volunteers now.
We do still need quite a few volunteers who are willing and able to load cases of food off of trailers into the delivery vehicles. In other words, you have to be able to bend over a great deal and handle up to 25 pounds. Loading would be your only job and you would be finished as soon as the last delivery driver is loaded for delivery. We have been done by Noon in the past (or earlier) and you would need to check-in at 9:30 am. Please let us know if you or a group can help with loading the vehicles. Tammy Kitka is working to see we have enough help loading food. Please contact her or we can pass the information along. Please keep in mind the high on 12/21/19 is 39 degrees and there is a 40 percent chance of snow/rain. We just want you to know what you are getting into upfront, but the "cold doesn't bother us anyway".
If you are signed up to help deliver, please be there at 9:30 am to check-in and get your delivery information.
This is our plan. You know, if you have helped in the past, things will not go as planned, but we will figure it out together. The count this evening is 868 children in 334 families.
