A great day for a cookout, a CYL cookout that isPosted Friday, May 16, 2008, at 3:51 PM
The summer must be rapidly approaching as the Clay Youth League fields seem to be in constant commotion as young ball players hone their skills at Forest Park.
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon then by enjoying a cookout that is sponsored by the CYL that begins today at 1 p.m. and runs through 6 p.m. The cookout serves to help raise money for the organization and will also include raffle prizes. All money goes back to the CYL and goes to support the area's young athletes. The CYL has been in existence for 30 years and has annually produced teams that challenge for state titles in Cal Ripken play. The organization also is a feeder system for the Northview baseball program as well as Clay City. While the challenges of supporting such a widespread program are many, the rewards are exponential. Currently there are approximately 400 players involved from ages 4-15. So everyone is invited to attend today's cookout to enjoy some great food and what should be a wonderful time for everyone involved in a great cause. |
