Simple sweets for a Valentine Sweetie
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but, trust me guys, it is also a very wonderful way to touch a woman's heart as well. (She will appreciate the fact that you cannot only fend for yourself, but can also keep up with her in the kitchen.)
Cooking, although it might not be gourmet, is a perfect way to show someone special how much you care.
Recently, a male friend of mine asked for some cooking advice while preparing a special dinner for a very special lady.
I was happy to help, but admit to being a little disappointed when he didn't want to make a dessert, especially when one is as simple as this to make.
Prepare one box of German chocolate cake mix using butter to replace the oil and using chocolate liquor instead of water in the recipe. Pour an inch of the batter into a prepared Bundt pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
While the cake is baking, melt a 14-ounce bag of caramels with a half-cup of evaporated milk and one cup of "real" butter. Let cool until you take the cake out of oven, and then pour into the pan. Top with one cup each of chocolate chips and chopped pecans (Saving some for the top of the cake.).
Pour on remaining batter and return the cake to the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
Remove cake from the pan onto a decorative cake plate or a nice plate.
Drizzle chocolate icing over the top of the cake. Top with pecans and chocolate chips.
Serve this with French Vanilla ice cream for your sweetie to enjoy.
Or better yet, for a little more romance why don't you serve each bite to your sweetie
