Fantasy Football Outlook-Week 2

Week 1 of the new season sure was a doozy.
There were injuries galore and players like Antwaan Randle El exploded for many fantasy points making owners flock to the free agency market. As we enter Week 2 of the fantasy season, the picture of who should perform at a high level this year is becoming clearer.
Put 'Em In QB Alex Smith - SF Vs. STL: After a subpar outing Monday night against the Cardinals, look for Smith to rebound in a big way against a weak Rams secondary. He should easily surpass 250 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. HB Adrian Peterson - MIN Vs. DET: I was right about him having a big day last week, and with Chester Taylor questionable this week against the Lions, he is a great pick once again. This time, however, he should get the bulk of the carries and rack up near 130 yards rushing and at least one score. HB Derrick Ward -- NYG Vs. GB: Ward has been named the starter for Week 2 with Brandon Jacobs expected to be out around a month. He was able to rack up 116 total yards (89 rush) and a touchdown in less than three quarters of work last week against the Cowboys. Look for Ward to be in the neighborhood of 150 total yards and a score this week. WR Santonio Holmes -- PIT Vs. BUF: The Steelers offense seems rejuvenated under new head coach Mike Tomlin, and against a less than stellar Bills secondary Holmes should reap the benefits to the tune of more than 90 yards and a touchdown. WR Donald Driver -- GB Vs. NYG: The Giants showed their defense is shaky at best against the Cowboys Sunday night, and Brett Favre should be able to play like he did five years ago. Driver is, by far, his favorite target and should be able to get 120 yards receiving and a score. TE Eric Johnson -- NO Vs. TB: Johnson led the Saints with 57 receiving yards on 8 catches in their blowout loss against the Colts. Look for him to be a big target over the middle again this week against the Buccaneers and draw in 65 yards receiving and, if the Saints can get into the red zone, a touchdown.
Sit 'Em Down QB Matt Schaub - HOU Vs. CAR: After a strong Week 1, the Texans face a tough Panthers defense that held the Rams under 170 yards through the air last week. Don't expect any more than 160 yards and a touchdown from Schaub, who will likely also toss two interceptions. HB Marshawn Lynch - BUF Vs. PIT: Lynch had a good game against a strong Broncos team last week, gaining 90 yards and a score on the ground. But this week he will struggle to muster 60 yards against a Steelers team that has not allowed a 100-yard rusher since Nov. 2005. WR Antwaan Randle El -- WAS Vs. PHI: His 162-yard outburst was remarkable last week against Miami, but the Eagles will make it look like a fluke this weekend. He shouldn't be able to get more than 50 yards receiving and will stay out of the endzone. TE Todd Heap - BAL Vs. NYJ: Heap had trouble last week against the Bengals linebackers, and was held to only 29 yards in the Ravens loss. The Jets have a better corps of linebackers and will limit Heap to near that same amount again and will keep him scoreless for the year.
Good luck this weekend in winning your matchups. I am also available for questions regarding lineup dilemmas to make your fantasy football experience an enjoyable one.
