There are a couple of interesting phrases in this definition.

The first is "personal chronological log of thoughts," which to me means the author is writing about things on a personal level, with his or her own feelings interjected.

The second is "often reflecting the personality of the author," which means the thoughts parallel the author's attitude toward other items of discussion.

Many blogs are not taken seriously because they reflect a person's OPINION, which we all have the right to.

However, for reasons unknown, some blogs do tend a stir even when the person is speaking in generalities.

Truth is, anyone can be offended by anything if they think about it hard enough, and more times than not, people tend to try to read more into something than is really there.

The more time we spend trying to find something to cause a controversy, the less time we have to live and be happy with what we have in the world we live in.
