As a sports fan I love a multitude of sports, especially football.
However, the New England Patriots are ruining the fun of watching a game. This isn't because they are blowing people out and scoring more than 40 points a game; high-powered offenses make the game exciting. It's because of how they are doing it. The Patriots are making the habit of not just winning big, but rubbing the other teams' face in it. In a couple of games this year, one being last night's game against their division rival Buffalo Bills, the Patriots decided to go for it on fourth down and short situations while leading by more than four touchdowns. Now if they were simply rushing the ball in hopes of getting the first down and running the clock out, that would be respectable, but they are passing the ball making it blatantly obvious they are running up the score. Patriots coach Bill Belichick, or as my editor calls a "hoodie-wearing jerk," claims what he is doing is just playing the entire game, but when you're up 49-10 near the end of the third quarter and chose to go for it rather than kick a 28-yard field goal, something has got to give. If "Spygate" didn't give fans a reason to hate Belichick and the Patriots, this lack of sportsmanship certainly should. Yeah!!!! Seems that there is very little sportsmanship, in most Pro sports these days... hope your doing OK
It is the opponents defense that is responsible for stopping them from scoring. I don't like the Patriots either, but if your team can't stop them, that's their problem. The Colt's kept them in check, they have a defense.
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?
