Hold on. . .Time to space out

Posted Friday, April 4, 2008, at 9:51 PM

After a long week of working, there is nothing better than sitting back and relaxing.

However, it can be extremely difficult to find the time.

Work can take up the time needed to run errands, get groceries and other things needed which take up the "free time" one might have to take a moment and clear the mind.

Our society tends to run and run and run, and the next thing you know, you can't remember the last time you were able to catch your favorite television show.

It is important to take time, even if it is just a minute, to take a deep breath and let some of the stress of daily life go.

With this job, the hours can become long very quickly.

On a short day where we think we have nothing, then the scanner will go off non-stop with fires and wrecks, we will get calls about anything and everything, and next thing we know we have so much that we can't fit it all in the paper.

We all have our ways of relaxing, mine is usually taking break for a couple minutes at the office to watch what is on the television.

It doesn't matter if it is Family Guy, the Food Network or even watching MSNBC run the same story I have been hearing for the past four hours, it gives me time to sort out the clutter in my mind to get back to focusing on the job.

So here's to the end of one long week and moving forward to the next, hopefully with some time to space out in between.
