The winless looking for some luck

One of the great traditions in sports is starting this weekend.
College football kicks off the season and I am hoping my alma mater has some better luck. Last year, the Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjacks put up a goose egg, going 0-11 on the season. In fact, since I graduated two years ago, the football team has been a dismal 4-18. They were outscored by a considerable margin, 384-176, and only had two games where they lost by less than 8 points. Like many bad teams, my alma mater would be happy with one win a year as long as it was against our biggest rival, the Sam Houston State Bearkats. However, the Lumberjacks have not been able to do that since 2003, which makes the life of a football fan on campus that much more unbearable. Although, we did come out victorious in the huge fight that broke out between the two teams in 2005 in which about 16 total players from both teams were suspended the rest of the season. Locally, the Indiana State football team suffered the same fate, also with an 0-11 season. There margin of defeat was much bigger, however, as they gave up 538 points while scoring only 123. Hopefully both teams will be able to pull out at least one win this year and give their respective fans something to root for. Well, hopefully your team fared better than ISU-they lost 52-0! Poor, poor trees!
