By the end of this week, we will be entering August.
This means school is about to start again and the fun of summer is over, right? By all means, the answer to this is no. Spread over the next couple of months will be the Bowling Green Old Settlers' Picnic, the Cory Apple Festival, the Center Point Fall Festival, and before you know it, October will be here featuring the Clay County Popcorn Festival and Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Personally, I love these small weekend events because it provides the opportunity to experience fun activities all over the county and meet interesting members of the community. On top of that, there always seems to be a fish fry or two to attend, eat good food and help out a civil or volunteer organization. While I may not be able to entrench myself into all the activities because I may be covering the event for the paper, it still is enjoyable for me to see people supporting their community and having fun.
