As sick as I am regarding hearing how good he really is, you've got to give Tom Brady credit.

Sure, he's won three Super Bowls. He's on pace to surpass Peyton Manning's season-record for touchdown passes and Dan Marino's record for passing yards in a season.

And he's having one of the best seasons for a quarterback in the history of the National Football League.

Still, I don't know about you, but I'm getting kind of tired of all the press Brady and the New England Patriots are getting.

I generally wake up at about 6 a.m. each morning. Monday morning, I woke up a little earlier, however.

I went through my normal routine, getting some coffee brewing and heading to the shower to get ready for the morning at work.

After all of this, I typically will sit down and flip on the television, turning to either Sports Center on ESPN, ESPN News or Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN2.

The irony of Dec. 10, 2007, however, was that all three channels were basically talking about the same thing.

"Tom Terrific."

Getting up each morning to see Brady's face plastered on the television is getting old.

As stated above, he is having one of the best seasons, if not the best, for an NFL quarterback ever.

You can't get much better.

The Patriots are 13-0. Brady is a lock for Most Valuable Player.

But there's a part of me that sometimes hopes -- when the Patriots are leading 44-0 late in the fourth quarter and driving for yet another score -- that a defensive player knocks Brady flat out.

It's really getting old.

I've stated several times that I'm not an Indianapolis Colts fan. From a fan standpoint, I bleed purple, having been a fan of the Minnesota Vikings for as long as I can remember.

But, I don't remember Manning getting this much publicity when he was on his way to setting the record that he did a few years ago.

In fact, I don't really remember the Colts getting this much publicity when they started 13-0 a few years ago.

But when it comes to the Patriots, analysts and critics alike just go crazy.

There is a "love affair" that these analysts and critics have with the Patriots and specifically Brady.

They love this guy. Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo would be a close second on the list of players they have a "love affair" with.

But it just gets tiresome to hear these analysts and critics fawn over these players.

The league features 32 teams. Surely there are at least 30 other players in the league these critics can fawn over.

At least once, right?

Before Sunday's knockout of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Patriots had faced two straight weeks of very tough challenges, barely getting by the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens.

These analysts kept talking about how the Patriots had faced their toughest challenges of the season.

Did they forget that the Colts played them closer than any other team prior to those two games? How quickly some do forget.

All I can hope for, as many Colts' fans are right now, is that Indy heads up to Foxboro in January 2008 and beats the Patriots, who will, more than likely, head into the playoffs undefeated, making them the first team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

Maybe then that will shut these analysts up.
