I'll take Who's Smart for $400 Alex

So, I have always taken great pride in believing that I have a good memory.

I have a habit of remembering a lot of information that is, often times, useless.

And I love to play trivia games.

Watching Jeopardy with my fiance is always loaded. Literally.

Obviously, no one is keeping a "real" score, but it's still fun to determine who might have won if we did.

I've always enjoyed watching Jeopardy to be honest. It's a fun game. It's stimulates the mind.

Let's get back on topic.

Last week, I took some time off from work in order to "recharge" the battery so to speak.

While the battery was "recharged," I also had an opportunity to play Jeopardy against someone who actually appeared on the show.

Talk about difficult.

Impossible might be a more likely term.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology professor Richard House recently appeared on the show.

He knows my fiance, who also works at RHIT.

Last Thursday, the two of us went to his home as he was appearing on the show.

Talk about an interesting moment.

As everyone was watching the episode, no one -- not even media (which I'm proud to admit, I was not a part of during that day) -- knew if he was going to win or not.

Well, he won.

So, my fiance and I watched the show again Friday to see if he could make it through the weekend.

And he did.

Wow.

It was exciting. It was exciting to be in the same room with someone who had just won almost $50,000 by using their mind.

That's what makes Jeopardy such an exciting show. People having to use their mind to move ahead.

As far as my continuing to play the game while lounging on the sofa? I'm fairly certain that will happen. But the thought of House answering question after question, getting Daily Doubles correct, and betting the "house" on final questions, well, that will always linger.
