The weekend getawayPosted Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 10:50 AM

The game was played in a high school stadium, which would marvel several college stadiums in Indiana. (Although I later learned at least two colleges in Ohio use the field as its home stadium). Even though the Colts lost the game, it was fun. Football is back. Are you ready for some football? I sure am. I gave up on the Indiana Pacers early last season and based on what I've seen so far, I'm not sure if I plan on watching much of the Pacers this upcoming season. In regard to baseball, my Cincinnati Reds are struggling -- as usual. So I'm ready for football!! And Sunday was a great start. I got to see former Indiana University quarterback and current Redskins receiver Antwaan Randle El catch a touchdown pass. We sat in the endzone, which was pretty cool. But the following day was the magical moment. We went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, located right next to the field. What an amazing trip. It only costs $18 to get in and I highly recommend it. The entire history of professional football is in that building. The experience is breath-taking. While touring the Hall of Fame, my fiance and I got a history on how the football helmet as evolved throughout the years. In addition, we learned how the busts were made. By the way, all I can say is wow! That entire room filled with heads of former football greats! That was a sight to see. If you get a chance, you should visit the Hall of Fame. As I said, it only costs $18 to enter and Canton, Ohio, is roughly six hours away. Happy trails! |
