It was a great time indeedPosted Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 7:53 AM
So, I'm sitting here at my computer and it dawns on me: I really need to log into our website and write up a new blog.
But what do I blog about? Do I tackle politics? Not interested. Too depressing. Do I touch on football? A sport I have come to love more and more throughout the years? Probably not. Then it hits me: I'm going to write about the trip I made Sunday. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, my first professional football game (in the regular season) in probably 20 years. I haven't seen a live-action football game (in the regular season, mind you) since I was in middle school. My father got tickets for us to head up to the Hoosier Dome (what it was previously called) to watch the Colts take on the Miami Dolphins. I remember watching Dan Marino absolutely destroy the Colts that day. Sunday's game, however, wasn't the same on the scoreboard. The Colts headed into Sunday's game in "desperation" mode. They had not won yet at Lucas Oil Stadium and were playing the Baltimore Ravens, arguably one of the best defenses in the NFL. But Indianapolis exploded offensively, knocking off the Ravens, 31-3. To be honest, watching the game was a lot of fun. Even though the Colts aren't my first favorite in the NFL, it was a great time. My fiance and I headed up to Indianapolis at 9 a.m. Sunday and managed to find a parking lot ($20 to park, but there were some lots that were charging $40!). We chatted up the surrounding Colts fans before the game. Had some fun. Ate some lunch. Then it was off to the stadium. Only three blocks away. I enjoyed taking it all in. The jumbo screens at the stadium are massive. Sure, we sat in the upper tier of the stadium, but that really didn't matter. What did matter was actually taking in everything. Watching the game regardless of seating. Being with my fiance. I can't wait for Nov. 30, when she and I will head to Cleveland to watch the Colts face the Browns. I have never been to Cleveland, but I'm looking forward to it. Can't wait. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Wonderful to hear you had a great time. Me and my husband don't get into sports very much. He enjoys NASCAR and I'd rather watch a Rodeo. One thing we do enjoy together is a sort of combination, Demo Derby! What a great mix. It has cars for him and lots of crashing, mud, and rednecks for me ha!
