A trip worth taking? Sort of.Posted Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at 10:03 AM
So, my fiance and I headed off to Cleveland last weekend to watch the Indianapolis Colts face the Cleveland Browns.
The trip was set to be filled with a lot of fun. We had a stop at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in addition to checking out some sites. The trip, as a whole, was great. The ride home, however, wasn't. We left Cleveland after the Colts captured a 10-6 victory sometime around 5:30 p.m. From Cleveland to Columbus, Ohio, is an estimated two-hour trip. Of course, estimations when it comes to traveling is never easy. It took approximately four hours to get from Cleveland to Columbus, leaving us with four more hours to get home. We finally laid down in bed to go to sleep at approximately 1:45 a.m. The traffic from Cleveland to Columbus, Ohio, on Interstate 71 was unbelievable. I've been in big cities before. I've driven from one spot to the next. But I couldn't believe how bad Sunday traffic was. It completely caught us off guard. None of us expected such a trip. It took less than seven hours to get from Brazil to Cleveland Saturday morning. It took more than eight hours to get back home. There were two traffic jams on I-71 Sunday evening, which slowed traffic to approximately 15 mph for at least 20 miles. Oh well. At least the Colts won, right? |
