The new addition

This past weekend, my fiancée and I welcomed a new addition to the home. While shopping at Walmart, my fiancée noticed a woman outside the store giving away free puppies. I was out of town. She had called me while I was driving home to let me know she was at her brother's home. When I arrived, she was sitting there with her brothers, nephew and two nieces. She was also holding something, but I couldn't make out what it was. As I stepped up to the porch, I noticed she was holding a little puppy. At first, I honestly didn't realize it was ours. I thought her brother had picked up a puppy for his two daughters. To my surprise, it was ours. She's a mix puppy and we're not really sure what breeds she may be. Unlike our first puppy, I was allowed to give input to the new puppy's name. I had, or course, several strange and odd ideas, which were quickly shut down. I thought perhaps we should name the puppy Leia, after Princess Leia of Star Wars fame. That was also shut down quite quickly as my fiancée is not a fan of arguably the greatest movies ever made. (I still don't understand that one). It was suggested that we give her a Greek name, since we had recently traveled to Greece. The first name that came to mind came from "Clash of the Titans." We decided to name her Andromeda and call her Andi for short. For now, she's a typical puppy. But she's feisty. And she's going to get bigger. Much bigger. Beagle Bailey, our beloved Beagle puppy, isn't sure how to react to Andi yet. Sometimes, she's the wonderful big sister. Sometimes, she wants to play while Andi is trying to sleep. And yet, sometimes, Beagle Bailey thinks her parents just gave her the greatest toy in the world. Things could get very interesting in the household. |
