It could happen

Since I've been with my fiancee, she has tried and tried to convert me to an Indianapolis Colts fan.

She has taken me to Colts Camp at Rose-Hulman. She and I have watched the Colts live against the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens (both Colts wins).

We traveled to Cleveland for the Browns game. Throughout the entire trip, all I remember hearing was Colts, Colts, Colts...

But I've stood my ground from day 1. I've been a Vikings fan for as long as I can remember.

Last year, the Colts faced Minnesota on the road and came away with a win. That particular Sunday is still etched in my brain.

I heard it all after the Vikings' loss.

And again, all I remember hearing was Colts, Colts, Colts...

But I still stood my ground.

I also remember thinking World War III could erupt in our household that particular day.

It didn't.

But it might Friday.

She and I will be attending the Vikings-Colts preseason game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

I know it's only preseason, but I'm wearing the gear.

I'll be in my Peterson jersey and I'm quite certain she'll be wearing Colts gear.

Again, it is only preseason, but a win is a win. Will I smear? Not likely.

After all, the Colts haven't really put a lot of effort into winning games in the preseason in the past few years. The preseason -- for Indianapolis -- seems to be more about getting ready for the regular season.

So, if the Vikings lose, it really isn't all that big of a deal.

But if they win, well...
