To vandals: Find a new hobby

So, part of my Monday afternoon was spent talking to Brazil City Park Board officials and the Brazil City Police Department Chief.

The discussions surrounded recent vandalism in Forest Park and Babe Wheeler Park.

According to the information, close to 40 windows have been broken at Forest Park, including 33 at the cow palace.

In addition, a restroom at Wheeler Park was broken into and damaged.

The park board has set up a $500 reward for the arrest and prosecution of the vandal(s).

I don't blame them one bit.

The residents living in the city of Brazil should be proud of Forest Park. The park offers quite a bit, including the swimming pool, tennis courts, walking areas, benches, a playground and picnic areas.

But, when things like this happen, it appears some don't care.

I hope the vandal(s) is (or are) caught and soon. I hope they are arrested and prosecuted for what they are: Criminal(s). Plain and simple.

And residents in the city should hope the same.

Forest Park is a wonderful place. The park is beautiful.

But to some, this obviously doesn't matter. They don't care about broken windows or busted restrooms.

But most people do. The majority of people take great pride in this city and county as they should.

It's too bad these people (or person) that have decided to deface this property don't have a hobby.

Destroying others property doesn't fall into this category.

I guess one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch after all.
