On the way to work ...Posted Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 4:12 PM
A funny thing happened to me on the way to work Wednesday.
OK, I wasn't working, but it still happened. Merry and I officially got hitched. Yep, we're now married and expecting. This has been a whirlwind of a year and we're only at July. The year seemed to culminate with this week as I found my schedule so full it appeared there was no time to actually stop and take a breath. Merry and I applied for our marriage license a few weeks ago and elected to have a private ceremony. We went to Brazil City Hall and were married. I would like to thank the officials at city hall for taking time out of the day to marry us. We are eternally grateful. Somehow I knew a few years ago when I first met Merry that she was the one. We met on a Thursday in a coffee shop and spent two hours discussing everything under the sun. From there, it's been nothing but uphill, at least, in my opinion. I knew from the get-go I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this woman. I could just tell. I proposed marriage only a handful of months later. We started looking for a home together as both of us were paying rent on apartments. We laid the groundwork for our future. Then, earlier this year, we discovered we were expecting. What a joyous moment. As far as a honeymoon is concerned, well, technically there isn't one yet. Merry and I have planned to travel to Indianapolis this week to visit the Children's Museum, a place I hope to take our child someday. From there, probably a dinner, then it's back home to plan a reception this weekend. I hope all of you have a splendid Fourth of July. I know we will. |
