I'll believe it when I see it

After 20 seasons, three MVP awards, one Super Bowl victory and an incredible consecutive game streak, Brett Favre apparently has come to the end of his career.

According to NFL officials, Favre filed retirement papers with the league Monday.

But the 20-year NFL veteran has done this before.

Call me a cynic, but I'll believe that he is finished when the preseason starts up later this year.

At 41, Favre may have endured his worst season as a starting NFL quarterbacks. He threw for 11 touchdowns in 13 games while tossing 19 interceptions. He also finished with a career-worst 69.9 passer rating, ranking third-worst in the league this year.

He suffered through elbow, foot, chin, neck, back, ribs and calf injuries in addition to the sprained throwing shoulder injury that finally forced him to sit down after starting 297 straight regular-season games.

He also suffered a concussion Dec. 20, against the Chicago Bears.

Following the Minnesota Vikings' last game of the season, Favre stated he knew it was time and he was OK with it.

But he also said he was retiring in 2008 after what many considered a brilliant career with the Green Bay Packers, and did so again in 2009 after one season with the New York Jets.

He played two seasons with the Vikings, perhaps playing his best season in 2009, when he threw for 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions and leading the squad to the NFC Championship Game, only to lose to the New Orleans Saints.

Even though he has said this is it and he's "OK" with it, I'm still not convinced.

Perhaps many of you aren't as well.

I kinda hope he is done on his behalf. But it is a free market. If someone out there thinks that he can help their team, he could be talked into coming back, again. Not sure who is hurting for a QB, but couldn't you see crazy ole Al Davis signing him? I can.
