Wrong information. Wrong time. Just plain wrong.

On Sunday, the right to play in this year's Super Bowl was determined as four teams took to the field.

The Chicago Bears hosted the Green Bay Packers while the Pittsburgh Steelers played the New York Jets at home.

While the Packers and Steelers both one, in the end, another story line emerged.

The ignorance of people.

Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler appeared to have injured his knee during the first half of Chicago's 21-14 loss to Green Bay.

The world of Twitter then came to life.

Here's a snippet of some of the "tweets" that were posted as the game played on:

* "Hey, I think the Urban Meyer rule is in effect right now. When the going gets tough ... QUIT." -- From Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew,

* "HEY there is no medicine for a guy with no guts and heart." -- From former Tampa Bay standout Derrick Brooks,

* "If I'm on (the) Chicago team, Jay Cutler has to wait till me and the team shower get dressed and leave before he comes in the locker room! #FACT." -- From Arizona tackle Darnell Dockett,

* "As a guy who had 20 knee surgeries, you'd have to drag me out on a stretcher to Leave a championship game! #justsaying." -- From former player and ESPN analyst Mark Schlereth.

I wonder what they are all thinking right now.

It was reported Monday afternoon that Cutler suffered a torn MCL during the loss Sunday. Apparently, there has been no determination on the grade of tear.

Throughout his career, Cutler has missed only one start, when he was forced to sit after suffering a concussion earlier this season.

It was also reported that Cutler began to choke up when he heard about all of these "experts" questioning his toughness.

Following the loss Sunday, Bears' linebacker Brian Urlacher defended his teammate, saying, "Nothing like jealous people who are sitting home watching. Players around the league you said, right? Yeah, love jealous people when they're watching our game on TV while their season is over."

Urlacher also said he would never question the toughness of Cutler.

Perhaps some of these other professionals shouldn't either.

I admit, I have never been a big fan of Cutler. In fact, he plays on one of the teams in the NFL I despise. Vikings fans don't like the Bears, Packers or Detroit Lions.

While watching the game Sunday, I wondered aloud why Cutler was not on the field.

But if he was hurt, he was hurt. Who am I, a simple fan, to determine whether a player can play through an injury or not?

I would suspect that planting to throw a ball with any type of knee injury would be difficult.

But regardless, here are all these people "tweeting" about this, giving people their opinion on something they know nothing about.

Are we supposed to take this "tweeting" thing serious?

Maybe some of these players should insert foot in mouth before talking, er, "tweeting," because some times, an injury is an injury.
