Was this how you picked it?Posted Monday, March 28, 2011, at 7:15 PM
Did you really pick this Final Four?
Be honest. Thousands of people entered a contest at ESPN and two, just two, had this Final Four picked correctly. I'm amazed two had it picked correctly. I had a final game of Ohio State against Kansas, with Kansas winning the National Title this year. Although I don't have my final bracket in front me, to the best of recollection, I had a Final Four of Ohio State, Kansas, Duke and Florida. As it turns out, I'm 0-for-4. But, in reality, my guess is several people ended up 0-for-4 this year as well. Seeing Connecticut and Kentucky in the Final Four isn't all that much of a surprise. Both squads have been very successful in the past. Butler really shouldn't be a surprise. The experience the Bulldogs gained from last year helped them more than likely. But they had a rough road to get back, playing edge-of-your-seat games practically all the way through. VCU probably surprised everyone with making it to the Final Four, especially after beating Kansas. Well, beating Purdue for that matter. The upcoming games will be exciting, that's for sure, with Kentucky and UConn face each other and VCU taking on Butler. Last year, I admit I jumped on the Butler bandwagon. It was exciting to watch the Bulldogs. This year's run has been the same. And the games have been so fun to watch. I'm reminded every time I see the Bulldogs play of former Brazil Times' Staff Reporter Melinda Quasius, a Butler graduate. I'm sure the past couple of weeks have been quite remarkable for her. In fact, I'm certain she's loving every minute of it. With that in mind, Go Bulldogs! Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

This has been one the strangest tournaments I've ever seen. VCU's win sets up a historic game with Butler, two unranked teams in Final Four game. This occurrence says a lot about college basketball today, anyone can win it all.
