Madonna to perform at Super Bowl?Posted Monday, December 5, 2011, at 2:33 PM
The NFL's dirtiest secret has become official.
And I wonder what fans who actually will be able to go to the Super Bowl this year feel about it. The 2012 Super Bowl halftime performance will come from Madonna, an elder statesman in the world of entertainment. Born Madonna Louise Ciccone in 1958, her career has spanned four decades. She has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is believed to be the world's top-selling female recording artist of all-time (Guinness Book of World Records). Since releasing "Madonna" in 1983, she has recorded 11 records, the last, "Hard Candy," coming in 2008. Her first No. 1 single was "Like A Virgin" in 1984. Her most recent No. 1 single was "Music," which came 11 years ago. Not that I'm against seeing Madonna perform during the Super Bowl. But to be honest, I'm against the idea of entertainment during the game at all. The Super Bowl, annually, is one of the most watched television events. Does it really need entertainment as well? I don't think so. What about you? |
