What in the name of Oliver Stone ...?

Posted Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 1:33 PM

This could be the beginning of another conspiracy film with Oliver Stone at the helm.

Recently, it was reported a Canadian woman, who was at the scene of 1968 Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, had suggested a second shooter was present during Kennedy's assassination.

During an interview on CNN, Nina Rhodes-Hughes, 78, Vancouver, said she heard at least a dozen shots during the event, which took place at the Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles, June 5, 1968.

Kennedy died from his wounds approximately 24 hours later. Five others were injured, but survived.

It was argued by prosecutors in California that eight shots were fired by a lone gunman, Sirhan Sirhan.

In the recent interview, Rhodes-Hughes said she gave FBI investigators a "true account" of what happened that fateful evening.

"I had no idea what they were going to say ...," she said. "You trust, you know? But what I said about a second shooter was completely ignored."

Let the conspiracy game begin.

Late last year, lawyers for Sirhan launched an appeal effort on his behalf, suggesting a bullet from the crime scene was switched during the course of the investigation.

In other news, an audio analysis of a recording of the event was conducted and one expert apparently said there were at least 13 shots fired.

Rhodes-Hughes is on record believing Sirhan took part in the assassination, but was not the lone gunman.

Sirhan confessed to killing Kennedy and was convicted in 1969. He is serving a life sentence in California.

How many of you saw "JFK?"

The film -- directed by Stone -- examines a possible conspiracy into the assassination of John F. Kennedy, only five years before.

Stone's film suggests a conspiracy that went as high up as the White House, including Lyndon B. Johnson, the vice president at the time.

I enjoyed "JFK," and believed it to be a thoroughly entertaining film.

But I have never been convinced based on any of the evidence that has been brought forth over the years.

I wrote a paper while in college discussing the many theories regarding the JFK assassination.

But to see this -- the assassination of Robert Kennedy -- 44 years ago ... to see it possibly re-opened?

All I can really say is wow.

Stone must be salivating right about now.

Jason. As a researcher over the years of all assassinations I'll issue you a challenge. Answer all of the "cloudy" information regarding the JFK assassination ie: The number of people who heard shots and saw smoke from the grassy knoll; missing frames from the Zapruder film; the single bullet theory; Oswald on the 2nd floor of the Book Depository minutes after the shooting; Witness testimony of men behind the fence; various conflicting testimony of those in the JFK autopsy; Gov. Connonly's reaction to the shots; Owsald's prints not on the rifle at first, but somehow appear later; and the head shot....THEN I might agree with you that LHO was the sole assassin. As far as RFK.....explain the powder burns from a gunshot wound to the back of his head and and tell me Sirhan had a curved gun and I might also believe in UFO's.
