Not on board. Not now. Not ever.

My last blog was called, "Chicken and controversy," and referenced the big hub-bub over Chick-fil-A.

The restaurant chain came under fire earlier this year after its founder, Dan Cathy, voiced his opinion regarding marriage, saying it should only be between a man and woman.

Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin -- who has routinely found her way back into the spotlight on a regular basis -- posted a photograph of her and her husband at a Chick-fil-A.

Only days later, CNN teased a report about Palin at the restaurant with Pink's song, "Stupid Girls," in the background.

CNN released a statement one day later stating the music selection was a "poor choice."

I didn't believe it then, and I don't believe it now.

News agencies, particularly larger ones, did not like Palin.

I've been rather critical of her in the past. But maybe she and her husband like Chick-fil-A?

Who knows.

I highly doubt it.

Rather, I am a firm believer Palin enjoys the spotlight shining as bright on her as it can. She knew the major news agencies would take the bait, and it gave her more fuel for the fire against what she has long called, "the lamestream media."

Ridiculing someone in this fashion, however, is just petty.

I did notice someone commented on the blog, however, and I wanted to respond.

To Conservative Dad: I have not finally "got on board."

While she has been used as an "editorial punching bag," in some cases, she has deserved it. In other cases, she hasn't. The same goes for a lot of politicians.

Liberal or conservative, there is no reason to vilify Palin. As I stated before, she is clever and she enjoys the spotlight.

At this point in her political career, I find it hard to believe anyone could possibly take her seriously.

I think people in general see her for what she is. She enjoys fame, pure and simple.

She may mask that enjoyment with a desire to want to see more conservative values on display in the country, but she still enjoys fame.

Like the greatest actors and musicians before her, she knows how to stoke the coals to get a bigger fire out of the media, i.e., she knows what to do to get their attention.

And it appears to work almost all the time.

Again, I wouldn't say I have finally "got on board."

Rather, it's easier these days to see through the glare of the spotlight.
