The halftime show has got to goPosted Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at 6:19 PM
I recently saw a report online stating Super Bowl XLVIII may not have a halftime show.
I say good riddance to the event period. I'm not sure if it is even needed. Next year's Super Bowl will be played at MetLife stadium in New Jersey. It will be cold and inclement weather may force a cancellation of a halftime show. Of course, NFL executives have said the rumor is not true, but I still believe the show isn't needed. Isn't the game itself enough? This year's halftime performance, provided by Beyonce, was fine. Most are calling the show "electric," or "stunning." I'd say it was OK. But I don't tune in to the Super Bowl to watch the halftime show. In fact, that's the perfect time to get up, get some more grub and get ready for the second half. After all, it's the last professional football game for several months. When I was younger, I could sit through a baseball game from the first pitch to the final out. Not so much anymore. I'm not a big fan of professional basketball anymore and the college basketball season will soon come to a close. This means a few months without hard-core sports. No Sundays and football. If there is no halftime show, it won't bother me. And my guess is it won't bother a lot of people. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

My husband and I agree, in fact, he said Beyonce's "show" was nothing he thinks our granddaughter or grandson, for that matter, need to be seeing during a "wholesome" tradition!
