Karma is tough to deal with.

For several years, Paris Hilton has sullied our national airwaves with her playgirl image an her catch phrase, "that's hot."

Well, let's see how hot Paris feels now that her billionaire grandpa, Barron Hilton, has announced he's donating 97 percent of his fortune to the family foundation, instead of to her alcohol and stiletto fund.

Barron's money, which came from Great-grandpa Conrad Hilton's hotel empire, will support projects that provide clean water in Africa, housing for the mentally ill and education for blind children, according to a yahoo.com article.

Call me a little schadenfreude, but I'm looking forward to the day when we hear "Gee, Miss Hilton, your loan was not approved. Do you have anyone who would be willing to co-sign for you?"

Goodness, she may even have to (gasp!) get a job.

It is one thing to be weathly.

It is another to be weathly and dumb.

And it is a whole 'nother ball game to be wealthy and dumb and flaunt it.

I am pleased to hear that Barron Hilton deems his money would do more good helping those in need than furthering the exploits of the young woman who tried to ride a motorcycle up a red carpet.

Amazing. Someone in that family has perspective.

I have spent some time volunteering at the Indiana School for the Blind in Indianapolis. I hope some of Grandpa B's money will head that way.

The kids at the blind school are kind and hard working. The facilities there have been around for a very, very long time. It would be nice to reward some deserving Indiana kids with Hilton money.

Especially since there are 26 different Hilton Family Hotels within 40 miles of the school that have contributed to the fortune.

Paris Hilton is about the same age as I am. If I had the money, would I be rocking designer duds and hanging out in the hippest clubs? Probably.

But I would like to think I wouldn't disgrace the family name enough to have my benefactor send his fortune out of the country.

Sorry, Paris. And, yes, I would like fries with that. Make sure they're extra hot.

Its not the point of her doing well on her own. It is the point that todays culture allows someone so obviously dumb to make a small fortune by being just that...DUMB!

I have been in the Entertainment business for the last 3years, and I can tell you Paris is doing just fine on her own...She doesn't need her grandfather's money...Alot of people who are not in this business can not comprehend how much she makes on appearances, books, and her perfume just to name a few...So maybe it's you who will be asking if you would like fries with that...
