What's your problem?!

Every once in a while, I come across one of my biggest pet peeves and it almost ruins my day.

This morning, my editor sent me out to get photos of the snow and cars driving along National Ave. through the slush.

Since it was a short trek, I walked instead of getting in my car and driving two blocks. And then I remembered why I usually do remain in the confines of my vehicle.

While standing on the corner of Depot St. and National Ave., a white truck pulled up to the light.

The two occupants, I dare not call them gentlemen, decided it would be a hoot if they honked the car horn at me.

I HATE THAT.

What drives a person to use a means of traffic signaling to embarrass, startle and generally leer at someone?

Some say they honk at attractive people. I guarantee that sounding your horn at someone immediately diminishes your chances of gaining their favor. It is the wrong type of attention.

I tried not to acknowledge it this morning, but as they drove away I received another round of honks and jeers.

It's just crass, and it is not acceptable to treat anyone like that, especially while they are just trying to do their job.

So honkers of the world, STOP!

Honey, how old are you? I can tell you as a person gaining in years that one of these days if and when you still look good to the opposite sex, that you will enjoy and welcome the honks! Boys are a raging bundle of hormones for almost their entire lives and if they honk, whoot, whistle or hollar at you, well I urge you to enjoy it while it lasts! Looks aren't forever, in fact nothing is! Have a great day and try not to take the small stuff too seriously and for granted!
