A Sunday ride
A Sunday ride
Sunday afternoon, our daughter Starla called and asked if we would like to take a nice ride to Brazil.
It had been a while since our last trip to visit the graves of nine family members and of friends and neighbors we both knew. Memories of them are always on our minds.
We had no trouble answering that question. Within a few minutes, we were on the road heading toward Brazil.
The pleasant trip through the countryside treated us with a panoramic view of Autumn at its best.
None could have been a more beautiful woods than the one I know so well beyond the end of Elm street.
Kudos to the City of Brazil for providing the excellent care Restlawn, Cottage Hill, and Old Hill receive.
My dad would have been pleased the brick roads have been set free of their heavy covers. When he worked for the WPA, his work crew helped cleared a bed for those bricks and laid them in place.
Sunday, we visited the gravesites of our family, friends, and neighbors covering the entirety of that area. I also noticed the gifts of others that added to the look of the peaceful burial grounds and is so much appreciated.
We like to make a trip around town when we come home, and we did. I wanted to see Craig Park.
People were fishing and enjoying their afternoon as well in that beautiful park. We watched one man catch a nice fish.
Memories surfaced of days gone by another time and another place. I could hear my dad singing, “You get a line, and I’ll get a pole, and we’ll go fishing down at the crawdad hole babe... “
He would love fishing at Craig Park, a dream, a place realized by his friend Norval.
We visit Oak Hill cemetery before heading back Brownsburg.
I can say this senior handled the hill climb well and visited the graves of the Lynch family.
It’s so nice to come home and to know we will be back!
I can be reached by phone at 317-286-7352 or drop me a line at 649 South Grant Street, Brownsburg, IN, 46112.
