Election Day at School

Pre-school students at the LEEAP Center in Brazil placed their votes on Election Day in a voting booth specially constructed for the students by speech teacher Beverly Farnworth's husband. The students voted on their favorite shapes and favorite colors by using stickers to make their selections. Heart won as the students' favorite shape and blue and red won for favorite colors.

Student council members at Van Buren Elementary conducted a mock election for all students on Tuesday. Students voted on their choice of presidential candidate and state governor. Mitt Romney won the VBE presidential race with 111 votes to Barack Obama's 108 votes. The winner of the gubernatorial race was Mike Pence with 104 votes. Teachers Derik Tipton and Anna Lorenze lead the Van Buren Elementary student council.
