“Rumpelstiltskin,” the Grimm’s fairy tale about the girl who spins straw into gold with the help of an evil imp, has been made into a musical-comedy and will be performed Nov. 3, 4 and 5 by the Young Actors Theatre at the Community Theatre of Clay County, located on National Avenue in Brazil. The times are 7 p.m., Nov. 3 and 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets may be purchased at Coughanowr Insurance, 15 N. Walnut St., Brazil. Adult tickets are $6 and students $4. The Young Actors Theatre is made up of youth ages 6-15. “We pride ourselves on everyone who auditions get a part,” said Tammy Emmert, director. “Every child who wants one gets at least one speaking line.” Emmert thinks it’s very nice for shy children because “they get to be brave and get up in front of people.”
