Rohr leaving Clay schools

Thomas Rohr, superintendent of Clay Community Schools for 13 years, was selected to serve as superintendent of Greater Clark County School Corporation last night. His official starting date is July 1, 2003. In a statement prepared for The Brazil Times, Rohr said, "During those 13 years I have worked with many outstanding teachers, staff members and community members as well as had the opportunity to watch many exceptional children benefit from our school corporation...there have been many quality improvements and satisfying accomplishments in the school system.". ...

Dr. Thomas Rohr estimates it has been two or three years since schools were closed in anticipation of a winter storm. This morning, many schools in our area were closed before the first raindrop or snowflake fell. The reason was a massive area of precipitation moving north from Texas. In Illinois and Indiana, that precipitation was expected to meet below-freezing air. So, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Clay County...
