Alyssa Conrad won the county eight-nine year old Girls' Elks Hoop Shoot contest in December and recently won the District Hoop Shoot contest in Crawfordsville. She will be competing in the State Hoop Shoot contest at Lebanon on February 22.

Regional girls' basketball pits top teams versus each other

The battle of attrition otherwise known as girls' basketball regionals begins this Saturday with action across the state. Sectionals have thinned the herd to the contenders with 16 regionals hosting a total of 64 teams. A Brazil City Police car sets between 404 and 410 W. Kruzan St. Wednesday afternoon. Alvie Smith, Jr., 49, of 404 W. Kruzan St. (left) walked next door to a neighbor's house (right) shortly after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. He told Don Wilson, the neighbor in the house on the right, that he had just been stabbed.
