Alyssa Conrad, a fourth grader at Jackson Township won the Elks 8-9 year old State Hoop Shoot this past weekend in Lebanon. The top eight girls in the state competed at Lebanon Middle School with Conrad winning the title. She will compete March 19-22 in Rochester, Michigan in the Regional Semifinals against winners from Michigan and Ohio. The winner will go to Springfield, Massachusetts for the National Finals...

Christopher Sears, 27, of Terre Haute, formerly of Broken Arrow, Okla., died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at 1:55 a.m. He was killed while walking down U.S. 40 in West Terre Haute. He was born July 11, 1976, in Vigo County, the son of Jack Leon "Sonny" Sears Jr. and Sharon Ann Snavely. He lived in Broken Arrow as a young boy, then came back to Vigo County, graduating high school at Terre Haute North...
