Illegal aliens plead guilty to transporting other illegals after I-70 crash near Brazil

Two Mexican citizens were sentenced last Tuesday following their guilty pleas to transporting illegal aliens. The pair were caught Sept. 9 when Ramon Vasques-Balcasar, 22, was driving a van that overturned on I-70 near Brazil. According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, the van held 14 illegal aliens, including Balcasar and another defendent, Rogelio Morales-Martinez, 24. A Clay City man was critically injured in a crash early Sunday morning in Vigo County. Jeremy W. Klinger, 26, of Clay City received internal injuries and broken bones in the accident on Fruitridge Ave. south of Idle Creek that occured around 3:45 a.m. Indiana State Police report Klinger's vehicle veered off to the left side of the road and hit several trees before stopping.
