Restaurant to be rebuilt (07/11/05)
Patrons of McDonald's restaurant on National Avenue in Brazil were greeted by locked doors Saturday. The restaurant is a popular gathering place for senior citizens. The owners plan to demolish the current building and rebuild in the same location. It is not known exactly how long it will be until the restaurant re-opens...

According to a press release from Mayor Tom Arthur's office, animals running loose continue to be a problem in Brazil. City Code 90.02 states, "No person shall allow any cattle, sheep, swine, fowl, dog or other domestic animal to run at large in the city."...

Izma Lynn Shaughnessy Underwood, age 89, of Knightsville, passed away Saturday morning at the Cloverleaf Health Care, in Knightsville, IN. Born April 10, 1916, in Reelsville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ralph and Florence (Job) Herbert. On Nov. 19, 1933 she married George Shaughnessy and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1970. In 1972 she married Walter Underwood and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1977. She was a homemaker and housewife...
