Fuel leak from semi accident closes I-70 Thursday morning

By IVY JACKSON Times Staff Reporter A semi accident on Interstate 70 Thursday morning closed down traffic for several hours while HazMat crews cleaned fuel off the road. Around 4:35 a.m. Thursday, members of the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Jackson Township and Posey Township Volunteer Fire Departments and the Indiana State Police were dispatched to an area near the 28-mile marker in the westbound lane of I-70, after a 911 caller reported an accident involving a jack-knifed semi about three miles east of the Brazil exit.. ...

Clyde Davis Stantz, 80, Coal City, passed died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at 3 p.m., at Monroe Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Iowa on Nov. 15, 1926, the son of Claude and Belva Pardington Stantz. He was a farmer for years and had worked at the Clay Plant in Brazil. He enjoyed the out of doors â€" hunting, feeding squirrels, watching baseball and spending time with his grandkids...
